About

At Speedi StiX, we’re passionate about golf and we thrive on the progression of our customers and their success on the golf course.
Track coaches and sprint athletes have used overspeed and underspeed training protocols for many years. Underspeed training involves overweighting or adding resistance to the athlete. Overspeed training involves underweighting or adding assistance to the athlete to allow them to move faster than normal. These techniques have been an integral component in speed training for sprinters, speed skaters, and power athletes. Recently we have seen these techniques being used by rotational sports that involve striking and throwing. Although the philosophy remains the same, there is a ton of debate about the best method for maximizing rotational speed.
I have been using over and under weighting of golf clubs for the last few years. I have experimented, adapted and implemented my own system. My method maximized speed while reducing stress on the body, which fits with my belief on the Minimum Effective Dose Philosophy; the smallest dose that will produce the desired outcome. I found very similar results when compared to industry norms.
I follow the same speed training philosophy that many sprint athletes had great success with. This philosophy uses Overweighting to build strength, Underweighting to the lightest Speedi stiX to improve neuromuscular speed to the maximum. And finally using a Weight which is almost identical to the average driver to try and maintain this newfound speed in your golf swing.
The Training protocol included, provides clear instruction on how to train effectively and efficient. Included in the booklet is 5-minute dynamic warmup, designed to prepare your body for Overspeed training. Increasing your heart rate, improving mobility throughout your joints and increasing blood flow and flexibility to your muscles. Overspeed training starts with normal standing Golf swings (Normal swings, Step swings). Eventually over the course of the weeks progressing towards 1/2 kneeling swings & tall kneeling swings. When you take the legs out from the athlete it takes away their ability to engage the ground effectively. You now need to rely on your rotational slings and the rotational muscles used in torso disassociation above the knees to create rotational speed. Eventually when you have worked your rotational torso muscles, Moving onto the final ultimate swing speed enhancer... Happy Gilmore swings
